The Next Project

Way back when I got back into collecting in the fall of 2012, I had this wild idea of turning my basement walls into walls filled with cards!  Most of the ones that remained were just very well loved cardboard that would just look fine in my man cave.

Fast forward 3 collecting seasons ready, I am ready for the next project.  I have salvaged some wood from a deck project that will become a work table on top (3' x 5'), suitable for sorting.  The tops is actually butcher board donated by a good buddy.  What I am going to there is place the Top 150 cards of various years on top and from what my handy work people tell me, lay some epoxy down on top similar to what you may find in bars.

The summer task on the blog will to determine the Top 150 cards to include on top.  This may then transition to the doors and side panels.

The card above got me hooked back into the hobby back in 2011. This Prince is in.

To help the cause I picked up three jumbo packs of 2009 O-Pee-Chee

This Granderson has a awful ding in the right corner, I guess it's place will be on the table

I am going to include for sure the flagship cards of my youth, Nokes is in!

The trick will be to get the right balance, variety and representation out there, and make sure to not glue down the 1962 Kaline!  Do you put each All-Star card? MVPs, the triple crown winner will have a place, what about the Cy Young folks,

Stay tuned!

Keep it Hot on the Corner! Pat

  2. This project sounds awesome! I'm tempted to sit down and figure out the 150 cards I'd use.
